Strengthen collections at the state-wide level and advise the CSUL regarding trends in collection management. Oversee the cooperative aspects of development of the SULs' overall collections and information resources that support the teaching, learning and research at those institutions. Determine general guidelines for statewide collection development, collection management, resource sharing, collection assessment, and preservation. Coordinate with other committees on issues of mutual interest.
Oversees cooperative collections activities among the CSULs including:
1. Reviews the annual list of consortially-funded database purchases recommended by ERS and recommends it, with revisions if necessary, to CSUL for approval/disapproval.
2. Recommends library contributions to meet database funding short falls to CSUL for approval/disapproval.
3. Selects special collections held by the SULs for digitization.
4. Analyzes existing collections
5. Assesses existing collections and makes recommendations to strengthen.
6. Recommends the creation of new collections.
7. Other collection management activities as needed.
